President & Chief Executive Officer
Mark is an experienced C-level executive and entrepreneur. After a successful career in medical device industry with Battelle and Johnson & Johnson, he started a successful consulting business serving the new business development and company management needs of life science clients. He has been CEO/COO at several startups including CardioEnergetics, JointVue, Arteriovations, Medical Ingenuities, Epico, and AssureRx Health. Mark holds BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Dayton and The Ohio State University.
Chief Financial Officer
Brad Beasecker is a seasoned C-level executive and entrepreneur. After helping establish a local regional bank’s corporate finance services, he joined a startup energy technology services company and led a successful exit within five years. He was founder and president of a private investment banking firm that specialized in emerging companies. Mr. Beasecker served as president of the Columbus Venture Network for three years. He holds a BS from Purdue University, a master’s degree in economics from The University of Michigan, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Vice President Operations
Steve has a significant background in medical device manufacturing and operations with 30-plus years of progressive operational experience at multiple Johnson & Johnson sites. He retired as Ethicon Director of Contract Manufacturing. His responsibilities included manufacturing management; supplier and contract management; product development, launch, and scale up; inventory management; Six Sigma continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and acquisition integration. He holds a BS degree in industrial engineering from Millikin University.
Dr. Brian Price
Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Price has joined Proteosense as the Chief Technology Officer responsible for coordinating research activities initially focused on completion of MS2 and subsequent development of a functional Beta device. His leadership strategy is driven by more than 17 years of experience in product development, CMC, quality control and regulatory compliance. Dr. Price has a demonstrated successful track record of product development experience and business development growth based on programs in toxicology, analytics, and therapeutic and vaccine development. Dr. Price was Vice President of Pharmaceutical Development at Myonexus Therapeutics. In this role he was responsible for CMC process development and production of GMP material for use in Phase I clinical trial. Positive clinical results led to acquisition by Sarepta Therapeutics in Q1 2019. Prior to his role at Myonexus Dr. Price served in a range of leadership roles over the course of his 15-year tenure at Battelle Memorial Institute, most recently as the acting lead for business development in the health business unit. At Battelle, Dr. Price directed and oversaw research projects for commercial and government clients in the areas of toxicology, vaccine and therapeutic efficacy evaluation, medical device development, environmental microbiology, assay development and validation, and vaccine production. Dr. Price earned his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in microbiology at The Ohio State University.
Vice President Marketing
Chris has held senior leadership positions in the US Army and progressive leadership roles in global marketing, business development, sales management, operations, and professional education, global opertaions, and senior commercial leadership at Johnson & Johnson and in start-up and small cap medical device and diagnostics companies, including Meridian Bioscience and Cardica. He holds a BSE from the US Military Academy and a master’s degree in international economics from Johns Hopkins University.
Gina (Nicholson) Kramer
RS/REHS Scientific Advisor
Gina Nicholson-Kramer, RS/REHS is the Executive Director of Savour Food Safety International where she specializes in helping companies develop long-term food safety culture and behavior change programs. She also specializes in internal and external food safety communication plans during times of crisis for food companies. Ms. Nicholson-Kramer has developed a mentorship program for food safety professionals. She attended Ashland University, earning a bachelor’s degree in human biology. She is a Registered Sanitarian in the state of Ohio and a Registered Environmental Health Specialist through the National Environmental Health Association.
